OTUL LITE Underquilt (summer)

When sleeping in a hammock, a regular sleeping bag gets compressed which results in less insulation on the sides and the bottom. It is especially inconvenient during colder seasons like autumn, winter, or early spring when even the best sleeping mats will not guarantee sufficient protection from cold. OTUL Underquilt surrounds the sides and bottom of your hammock and traps the air that your body heated so that you can get a comfortable and lovely night’s sleep even when cold weather strikes. Once you get OTUL, you won’t need to use a sleeping mat anymore!

OTUL LITE is the lighter version of our famous OTUL underquilt. Rectangle-shaped with dimensions of 200 × 100 cm, weighting 500g OTUL Lite provides comfort from 7 ° C / 10 ° C to 18 ° C. It’s the optimal solution for ensuring thermal comfort from late spring to early autumn.

Three features making OTUL an outstanding solution:

• lightweight, durable, quick-drying microripstop polyamide fabric – the same material that is also used to make jackets and sleeping bags for Polish Special Forces units like GROM or FORMOZA.
• superb insulation layer – CLIMASHIELD Apex 2.0. It’s lightweight, elastic, durable, and hydrophobic which means it doesn’t soak up water!
• minimalistic, universal design – OTUL is a versatile product that is very easy to use. Setting it up doesn’t require any special knowledge or equipment and takes very little time.

Moreover, Otul has:

• diagonal quilting - it keeps the insulation layer in one place, extending the life of the product
• no quilting through the external material - this way Otul provides more effective thermal insulation

OTUL fits any hammock model. Installation of the underquilt takes 1.5 minutes, and it can be adjusted without getting out of the hammock with easily accessible buckles. No need to leave your warm sleeping bag.

OTUL is rigged with shockcords and cord locks, allowing you to tighten up the underquilt so that it doesn’t let any cold air in. This solution creates a so-called foot box and shoulder box that surround your feet and shoulders – these parts of your body that are most vulnerable to the effects of cold temperatures.

The use of two OTULS (one as an underquilt, the other as a topquilt) will create a perfect warm bubble around a hammock during an overnight stay. You can easily use OTUL as a blanket. This feature is especially useful during breaks in hiking or while performing camping chores. Brewing the morning coffee or watching as the sunrise is now cozy and warm.
